Title

A bracero speaks to a nurse while the doctor listens to them in a clinical practice in the Salinas Valley, California.

Description

Original Caption: In the medical clinic maintained by the insurance company in the Salinas, Calif. area, Dr. Stanley Savoy handles about 85 men per day. Since he cannot speak Spanish, he has his nurse interpret for him in dealing with the braceros. It was his opinion that the most common ailment is the backache, and that the braceros have a higher incidence of respirator diseases due to bad living conditions. (A, #22)
