Description

Braceros on the long trek to the Monterrey Processing Center, where they will be processed as potential farm workers. The journey to the Monterrey Processing Center was long and arduous, and many had to carry all of their belongings with them.

Original Caption: Bracing themselves against the daily, biting sand storms a long line of braceros file in procession towards the lunchroom. after they have gone through the first stage of processing for employment on United States' farms. They must still go through another processing stage at the border. (A, #9) At 3:15 pm every day the winds came up like clockwork to whip up the sands at the Mexican Control Station in Monterrey, Mexico. Here the braceros are in long processionb towards the lunchroom after they have been processed and are accepted for employment in the U.S. They must still be processed at the Control Station in Hidalgo, Texas.
