Braceros, viewed from a military barrack, wait at the Monterrey Processing Center, Mexico.
Title
Braceros, viewed from a military barrack, wait at the Monterrey Processing Center, Mexico.
Description
While taking pictures of braceros at the Monterrey Control Station, photographer Leonord Nadel decided to climb atop a nearby military barrack in order to take this picture of the assembled braceros. A group of Mexican soldiers, however, saw him and promptly arrested him for not having received permission to take pictures. The language barrier between them prevented communication, and Nadel said he was "surrounded by carbines" until a camp official managed to rescue him from his predicament.
